The Health, Social Care Sport and Leisure Theme is responsible for delivering healthy living initiatives in The Bridge New Deal for Communities area.
The main achievement of this theme has been the creation of the Laurels Healthy Living Centre. The Laurels has vastly improved the quality of facilities that local GP surgeries operate out of. It has also provided over 2,500 GP places for residents who previously had no GP. In addition to this the Laurels acts as a hub for healthy living and community projects such as the award winning BUBIC anti-drugs project.
The Health, Social Care Sport and Leisure Theme holds regular meetings and these are where prospective projects are proposed for the consideration of the local community.
