The Neighbourhood Services Theme is responsible for delivering projects across the thematic areas of Housing, Environment and Crime. So far this has been one of The Bridge New Deal for Communities most successful themes. The crime theme was recognised as being one of the most successful in the country.
- Vehicle crime is down 73%
- Street Crime is down by 54.5%
- Residents seeing kerb crawling and prostitution as a major problem is down by 49%
- Residential burglary is down by 23%
All of this has been achieved against local and regional trends. In addition to this over 5000 homes have been fitted with upgraded security, 50 alleyways have been gated off. 493 Council homes have received improvements with many being brought up to the Decent Homes Standard. Over 100 bins have been installed on the streets to help minimise litter and over 800 new lamp posts have been installed to help make walking routes to Seven Sisters station safer.
The Neighbourhood Services Theme holds regular meetings and these are where prospective projects are proposed for the consideration of the local community.
